My First Successful Brownie

I've always wanted to make a good brownie ever since my friend brought some of her mom's homemade brownies to school. They were SO GOOD!! They had a great balance between chocolatey and fudgy, a little cake-like but not extremely cakey that it ruins the purpose of a brownie.

She invited me to her house one day as her mom was going to be baking the amazing fudgy-ness again. Sadly, her mom had started mixing everything already and I didn't get to see the process :(. Sadly, the picture above is not her mom's brownies, it's a brownie recipe from foodwishes. Good and fudgy too but I still prefer my friend's homemade ones.

I did ask for the recipe though, and when I tried it, it came out a total failure. I will post her mom's recipe though, but somehow when I think about it, I think they gave me the fake recipe. But maybe it came out a failure because of my terrible baking skills

Brownie Recipe
Yields 1 small tray (*she didn't give any pan size)

Chocolate 75g
Butter 110g
Eggs 110g (approx. 2 eggs)
Sugar 200g
Salt 1/2 tsp
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Strong flour (Bread flour) 75g

  1. Melt chocolate and butter over a bain marie (* if you don't have one, set a bowl over a pot of simmering water, make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water)
  2. Allow the chocolate & butter to cool.
  3. Whisk eggs, sugar and salt until well mixed but do not foam
  4. Stir in vanilla
  5. Sift flour onto mixture and fold
  6. Bake at 165 celcius for an hour
